Chris began his marching career in the summer of 2001 at Susquehanna Valley HS, just outside Binghamton, NY. From 2006 to 2011, Chris spent his years performing with Spectrum Winterguard, primarily in the Independent Open class, as well as the A and World Class. He served as Guard Captain in ’09, ’10 and ’11. Chris has also marched with The Syracuse Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps from ’07 – ’08.
Since the age of 16, Chris has been on the teaching side of the pageantry arts. He has taught every form of the activity including High School, Independent, College and Drum Corps. He has been a director, designer, choreographer and/or consultant for numerous programs across the country. A few (of the many) programs include: University of Wisconsin - Whitewater (WI), Spectrum (NY), Greater Johnstown HS (NY), Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps (WI) and ATX Winterguard (TX).
Chris currently resides in Austin where he is the Colorguard Director at McNeil High School. Aside from his day to day, Chris is also a choreographer and instructor at Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps. He is also a freelance choreographer and designer and also works for SperlingDesigns doing the same.
Outside of the marching activity, Chris enjoys spending time with friends, cooking, reading, traveling and laughing. He is a big fan of Syracuse Orange Basketball and the New York Yankees. You can usually find him frequenting a local coffee shop, seeking out the perfect craft beer, hiking, or kayaking.
Geoffrey Sperling, originally from Detroit, MI, graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington with a Bachelor of the Arts. Geoffrey has been a performing member, and currently is an alumni of Interplay, Zydeco, and The Pride of Cincinnati Winterguards. In 2011, Geoffrey ended his 8 year DCI career as a performing member with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps where he was a part of the George Zingali "Best Color guard" award winning cast. Prior to that, Geoffrey was a marching member with the Cadets (2008-2010), Bluecoats (2007), Hawthorne Caballeros (2009), Capital Regiment (2006), Racine Kilties (2005-2006),and The Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps (2004-2005).
Geoffrey was an integral part of the design staff at Cedar Ridge High School (Round Rock, TX) from 2012-2013. During his time at Cedar Ridge the marching band made its inaugural appearance in the Bands of America Grand National Finals. The Winterguard received a Scholastic A bronze medal in the Texas Colorguard Circuit (TCGC), and made finals at all WGI regional appearances. Currently, Geoffrey resides in Austin , TX where he served as the Director of Colorguards at New Braunfels High School from 2014-2017. Under his leadership, The New Braunfels Marching Band & Winterguard experienced growth numerically and competitively. In 2015, The winter guard was named the WGI San Antonio Regional A Class Champion, and were Regional A class silver medalists within the Texas Educational Colorguard Association (TECA). In 2016, The New Braunfels Junior Varsity Winterguard was named gold medalists and novice class champions in TECA. In 2017, The New Braunfels Marching Band made UIL Area D finals for the first time in 6A. The program fielded 3 winter guards (Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Cadet) which contained over 50 students, and The Varsity Winterguard made finals at the WGI San Antonio, Austin, and Southwest Power Regional. Outside of his involvement with scholastic programs, Geoffrey has served as choreographer for The Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps (2012), The Louisiana Stars Drum & Bugle Corps(2014-2015), and Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps(2017). Geoffrey has also choreographed for White Gold (2012), Industry Independent(2015), and Spirit Independent Winterguard (2016-Present). Geoffrey has been a U.S. Bands Adjucator since 2013 in the caption of Colorguard. Presently, Geoffrey serves as a co-director for Origins Colorguard, an Independent Open Class winterguard based out of Austin, Tx.
Chris Josey Currently resides in Austin, TX where he serves as Colorguard Director and marching band program coordinator at Westwood High School. He also works as an assistant guard director at Cedar park High School. Before moving to Austin he served as music and visual coordinator and director of the color guard/winter guard programs for the eight time state class champion Santa Fe High School in Alachua, FL., colorguard Director for 2 time state champion Buchholz High School in Gainesville, FL., and director of River City Independent Winter Guard. Mr. Josey has served as a music and visual clinician for several marching and symphonic programs throughout Florida and Georgia. He has worked for the Music ‘n Motion summer auxiliary camp as drum major clinician and the All-star Music Festival as an event staff coordinator. Chris Was a member of the 2002 DCI open class champion and world class finalist, Magic of Orlando. He also was a member of WGI world class finalist, Northeast Independent winter guard in 2006 & 2007. John Lemire has been designing within the color guard activity for the past 16 years.
He is the current Director of Alter Ego Independent World; a role he has held since 2010. John has also served as the unit's Visual Designer, as well as one of the Equipment Designers since his first year with the unit in 2008. Alter Ego is the 2008 WGI Independent Open Class World Champion and has been a consecutive WGI Independent World Class Finalist for the past eight years since their promotion to the class in 2009.
John also currently serves as the Visual Designer for Trumbull High School's Color Guard and Winter Guard programs (2001-Present). In addition to winning multiple fall Color Guard Championship titles over the past 15 years, Trumbull is the 2006 WGI Scholastic Open Class Bronze Medalist and an eight-time WGI Scholastic World Class Finalist.
In the world of drum corps, John performed with various DCA corps along the East Coast and later went on to instruct and design for the Hawthorne Caballeros, Bushwhackers, Connecticut Hurricanes and Cadets2; achieving much success with multiple undefeated seasons and World Championship titles in the color guard caption over the past 10 years. The most recent World Championship title was with Cadets2 in 2016 where he served as Co-Caption Supervisor with Kristy Templin.
In addition to Alter Ego and Trumbull High School, John has also designed for various winter guards across the country including Lakota East High School, George Mason University, Ridge High School, Norwalk High School, Newtown High School, Claudia Taylor Johnson High School and most recently, Little Elm High School.
Aside from designing and instructing within our activity, John works as a Corporate Accountant/Budget Analyst for the Subway Corporation and currently resides in Derby, CT.
Kyle Albright is originally from Round Rock, Texas where he began his colorguard career at Stony Point High School in 2001. He enjoyed 4 years of winterguard at Stony Point High School. He went on to march DCI with the Bluecoats from Canton Ohio for 5 years, (02-06) and also marched winterguard with Insignia and Millennia Winterguards from 2004-2006
Kyle currently is the colorguard director at Pflugerville High School, where he has served the program as writer, designer, and program coordinator for the past 4 years. Kyle has worked with many programs in the greater Austin area including Dripping Springs, Georgetown, and Identity Winterguards.
When he is not teaching, Kyle bartends nights and weekends as well as enjoys downtime with his 3 dogs.
Sergio earned his Bachelor of Science degree from California State University Bakersfield in Early Childhood Education. Sergio is working towards his second degree in Business and Administration through the University of Phoenix Online Program.
With over 21 years of performance experience and 17 years of teaching experience, Sergio has flourished as both a color guard choreographer and designer. He has had the privilege of teaching and performing with many prestigious groups at the DCI World Class Level, The BOA level and all six WGI classification levels.
Sergio has performed with such groups as, West Coast Drum and Bugle Corps, Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps, Fantasia Winter Guard, Corona Winter Guard, Esperanza de Luz Winter Guard and Intensity Winter Guard.
Sergio has worked with such groups as Vista Murrieta High School, Ayala High School, Chino High School, Nogales High School, Rancho Buena Vista High School, Vandergrift High School, Centennial High School, Liberty High School, Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps, Esperanza Drum and Bugle Corps and the Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps. In 2014 and 2015, Sergio was the color guard caption head for the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps.
Currently, Sergio is the Color Guard Caption Head for the Vista Murrieta High School Band and Color Guard from Murrieta, California. Sergio resides in Riverside, California. Sergio was recently married in the summer of 2016.
Sarah was born and raised in Binghamton, New York. She earned her Bachelors in Animal Behavior at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, and moved to Austin two years ago. Sarah has been doing colorguard since 2003, and teaching since 2010. She has marched Spectrum Winterguard ('07-'09), Blessed Sacrament ('10-'14), Cypress Independent ('15 & '16), and The Cadets ('12). She has taught and choreographed for several schools in New York and Texas. Outside of colorguard, Sarah works with dogs at Taurus Academy. When not working, she enjoys hiking, yoga, stargazing, running, and traveling. She also loves coffee, sushi, and sauce.
Cameron Oefinger is a graduate of Texas State University earning a Bachelor of Arts in English, Writing, and Rhetoric Emphasis. He has performed works by Cheryl Chaddick, Bonnie Hossack, Kathy Dunn Hamrick, and Meredith Dunham. Cameron is now dancing his 5th year professionally in Austin while also teaching and choreographing for multiple programs around the central Austin area.
Nicole is in her 2nd year of being a "Texan". She was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia and comes to us via Dayton, Ohio. During Nicole's time in Texas, she has had the pleasure of working with Identity Winterguard, Spirit Winterguard (University of Houston), ATX Winterguard, Monarch Independent World Percussion, Genesis Drum & Bugle Corps and a list of high school in Houston, San Antonio and Austin.
Nicole’s colorguard career consists of O2 World (Ohio), O3 winterguard (Ohio), Lexis Winter Guard (Lexington, Kentucky), Southwind Winterguard (Kentucky), Spectrum (New York), Rochester Crusaders DCA Drum & Bugle Corps (New York), Act One Winterguard (Virgnina), and a list of high schools in Virginia, North Carolina, New York, Kentucky, Ohio, and Texas.
Nicole has performed with Revelation Winterguard (Virginia), O2 World (Ohio), Patriots World (New York), Patriots Drum & Bugle Corps (New York), Empire Statesmen Drum & Bugle Corps (New York), and Rochester Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps (New York).
Chelsea was born and raised in Austin, TX where she began her colorguard career at Anderson High School in 2008. After one year in the Anderson colorguard, she moved onto ATX Winterguard in 2009 and marched until she aged out of A class in 2015. While at ATX Winterguard Chelsea was the Captain from 2011-2015. Chelsea has taught ATX Winterguard since aging out.
Chelsea has worked at many programs in the Austin Area but found her home at McNeil High School in 2014. She had been working there since. This summer Chelsea will be teaching the Genesis Drum and Bugle Corp colorguard as the sabre choreographer and technician.
Currently Chelsea is studying at Texas State University, majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology. At Texas State, Chelsea is a Supplemental Instructor for Organic Chemistry and is a Teaching Assistant for Biochemistry Laboratory. She plans on finishing her degrees in the Spring of 2018 and attending graduate school in the Fall of 2018 to follow her dream of becoming a professor.
Emily is currently a student at Texas State University studying Early Childhood Education. In High School, Emily was a member, and captain, of the Marcus Color Guard program. After graduating she continued to march with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. Currently she teachs both at New Braunfels High School and Marcus High School. Emily is a firm believer in the power of passion and hard work and is completely in love with this activity.

Kate Williams was born and raised in New Braunfels, TX. Kate graduated from New Braunfels HS in 2009, and was a 4-year member and captain of the Colorguard and Winterguard under the direction of Ed Gonzales. After high school, she attended Texas State University where she received her BSFCS with a major in Fashion Merchandising. Kate was a 3-year performer of Identity Independent Winterguard 2010-2012. While there is no better feeling than being in the midst of a great performance, Kate truly found her passion with teaching, and seeing her students experience that same emotion. Kate has spent the last 7 years as Colorguard Instructor for Canyon High School in New Braunfels, and has just began her first year as Colorguard Director at New Braunfels High School. When not teaching, Kate spends her time obsessively listening to music, drinking coffee, and hanging out with her 2 dogs
Danny has been a colorguard director for over 25 years and is currently teaching at Lake Highlands High School and Highland Park High School, in Dallas, Texas. He was an active performer, instructor and judge with the North Texas Colorguard Association. He has served on the Board of Directors and also served as President of NTCA.
Danny has been involved with the design and instruction of winterguards since 1992. From 1992-1999, he taught at Springtown High School and led them to be one of the top colorguards in the Ft. Worth area. From 2000-2008, he taught at Crowley High School. Crowley High School was a perennial medalist for NTCA. From 2009, he has taught at The Colony, Highland Park and Lake Highlands High School, all these schools compete at WGI and NTCA events and are award winning programs.
Mr. Martinez also was the director of Ars Nova “A” winterguard (a 6 time WGI Finalist) and was the director of White Gold for 2 years. White gold won the bronze medal in 2011 at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH.
Mr. Martinez’s passion is colorguard and he strives to teach his students that “the quest of Performance Excellence never ends”.
Tommy Allen, a native of Indianapolis, Ind., studied Fashion Marketing and Management at The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago, and he currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.
Tommy is an alumnus of The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps (2002-2006), serving as drum major for the 2006 Championship season, as well as The Pride of Cincinnati (2003-2004) and Lawrence Central HS (1998-2002). 2016 also marked his tenth year on the instructional staff and design team with The Cavaliers.
From 2008 to 2015, Allen served as the Visual Coordinator and Color Guard Director at Norwin HS, helping Norwin Winter Guard claim four appearance in Winter Guard International's (WGI) Scholastic World Class Finals.
Tommy consults, programs, and designs for many organizations, including his current clients: The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps, Franklin HS (Tenn.), Eastlake HS (Texas) Marian Catholic (Ill.) Kiski Area HS (Penn.), Norwin HS (Penn.), Miamisburg HS (Ohio), Independence Winter Guard (Ill.), and Juxtaposition Winter Guard (Ohio).
