David Ziehm has been dedicated to the art of color guard for over two decades, beginning his journey at 10. He performed with Beyer World Guard from 2005 to 2008, Imbue Winterguard from 2009 to 2016, and the Concord Blue Devils from 2009 to 2011. After graduating from high school in 2008, David transitioned into teaching, combining his passion for performance with a commitment to mentoring the next generation of performers.
As an educator, David has worked with numerous color guards across California's Central Valley, fostering growth and excellence in every program he’s been a part of. Since 2012, he has been a valued Concord Blue Devils instructional staff member, contributing to the development of performers at the highest level. In 2017, he expanded his impact by writing choreography for the Blue Devils under the guidance of Scott Chandler. He also collaborated with Imbue Winterguard from 2018 to 2020, contributing movement and flag choreography under the leadership of Shavon Garcia.
Currently, David serves as the Caption Head for Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, CA, where he has led the program to notable achievements, including a top 5 finish in Scholastic A at WGI and winning the West Power Regional in Scholastic Open in 2025. With years of experience as both a performer and instructor, David continues to contribute to the growth and success of his students and the broader color guard community.
