Born and raised raised in Houston, Texas, Mackenzie “Flippy” Davidson grew up active in dance and gymnastics before discovering color guard at age 12. She began with the Friendswood Color Guard program in junior high and high school before continuing into the independent guard, performing with Spirit Independent World in 2021, Origins World in 2022 and 2023, Industry Independent in 2025, and returning to Origins World in 2026.

Flippy has spent the past several years teaching and directing color guard at both the junior high and high school levels. She currently serves as the Color Guard Director for Deer Park ISD and Color Guard Coordinator for Friendswood ISD and is pursuing a degree in Exercise Science from Franklin University.

Outside of color guard, Flippy is an avid board gamer and enjoys spending time with her partner, Becky, and their dog, Cosmo. After spending multiple seasons performing with Origins, she is incredibly excited to return to the organization in a new role and give back to a place that has played such an important part in her life.
